Kathleen Pierson was honored with a Dean's Award
from the Towson University College of Fine Arts and Communication
for her teaching and interdisciplinary work in 1999.

In a year during which Kathleen taught 20 credits of courses
in the Towson University music department,

while also teaching all of the Theory/Composition students
in the Preparatory Division in the evenings,

presenting a paper at the College Music Society Regional Conference,

playing for the dance classes at the
American College Dance Festival Association Regional Conference,

while continuing to constantly accompany and compose for dance classes and choreographers
in the Towson University dance department and elsewhere,

Kathleen was honored with an award which read, in part:

"...for your interdisciplinary work with the Dance Department;
for your excellent teaching of large sections; and
for your work with GENED education..."
